Several websites promote individuals making their own compost, building your own planters and start a self-sufficient garden that best suit your lifestyle and space availability. Now that 36.4% (2004, encyclopedia.com) of the US population lives in apartments we are finding ourselves for a loss of space and a new DIY attitude. But how do we grow our own food in limited space?

Since 2005 Topsy Turvy has become our new "lazy" garden. A simple bag that promotes the healthy growth of produce, the buyer must only supply the plant, soil and daily water. It is an easy concept that has spurred a simple idea of "Apartment Gardens". Although it may be easy enough to grab an affordable bag of planting soil at your local Wal-Mart, which plant has produced the best results? Even the least experienced gardener can grow plentiful tomatoes with the help of Topsy Turvy, but which will benefit your health the most?

With over 7,000 varieties of tomatoes, it can be overwhelming choosing the right tomato considering, size, produce/yeilding number, taste and nutrition. However, in 5 years several studies were done to research which is the most popular in each category.
